TUBBERCURRY

THE late Mary Clarke was an esteemed member of Tubbercurry Golf Club. She passed away last week after a brief illness. When the club opened in 1991, Mary brought with her all her experience and knowledge to organise the Ladies’ section of the club. She was the first handicap secretary then competition secretary and finally Lady President. Always forthright in her views, Mary promoted the club and the game of golf to the success it is today. Always smiling and with a very avid interest in Junior golf, she loved to see Juniors on the course discreetly enquiring if they had what they needed to play golf. A guard of honour was provided by club members at her funeral, a fitting tribute to a valued member. The Club Captain Gerry Hannigan the Lady Captain Mrs Marie O’Hara the Club President Luke Brennan, Mary McTiernan together with the members offer their condolences to Mary’s daughters Richella Etain and Naomi. May she rest in peace. 50/ 50 draw The next 50/ 50 draw takes place next Friday 21st in Foleys bar Fixtures Next Sunday 23rd there is an 28 hole stableford Sponsored by Cllr. Gerry Lundy
