WELL DONE MAIRÉAD

Mairéad Doherty, daughter of Gerard and Maggie from Caltra, Culleens, qualified for the Irish National Kickboxing Ireland Team in the upcoming WAKO European Championsh­ip.

Mairéad, who is a pupil of Rathlee NS, had four fights, two in Light Contact on the Saturday, in City West Hotel, Dublin, in which she came first On the following day she came second in the Point Fighting competitio­n, which, she said, was the hardest fight for her. The result of this was that she qualified for the Irish National Kickboxing Team.

All at Rathlee National School are so proud of Mairéad’s achievemen­t and wish her well in the upcoming World Championsh­ip which will take place in Hungary this summer.
