1 COS COS FESTIVAL The festival will encompass all that is great about traditiona­l Irish song and dance. Running until the 7th of May. The annual Cos Cos Sean- Nós Festival, now in its 11th year, brings together some of the country’s finest Sean- Nós dancers, musicians, singers, poets and storytelle­rs. This year’s event runs from May 1st to May 7th in Rathcormac and it promises to be the best ever. The annual Streets of Sligo 5k will take place this Sunday 7th May at 12 noon. Registrati­on is online at Coretiming. ie and also available on the day in Lola Montez Riverside. Due to popular demand, the course remains unchanged proving to be a fast downhill start and flat after that. This year’s core sponsorshi­p is from “For Goodness Shakes”. 3 DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

The annual 5K Darkness into Light Walk/ Run in aid of Pieta House is taking place this Saturday the 6th of May. A community will come together at the Knocknarea Arena at 4.15am and walk/ run in support of positive mental health. There are various walks taking place in locations around Sligo County such as Banada and Ballymote. This is a truly unique experience made by you: Family, friends and friends you haven’t met yet gathering in support of those who may be struggling or those we have lost. 4 THE BOAT

The Boat is a satirical comedy written and directed by the Glens’ favourite playwright, Seamus O’Rourke, in collaborat­ion with residents from Loughan House, Co Cavan. The authors are also the actors. Paul’s day starts out as normal but a series of unexpected events leads him into choppy waters. The boat may not be the solution but it might bring its own rewards. Taking place this Thursday the May 4th in the Glens Centre Manhorhami­lton from 8.30- 10.00pm. Tickets are € 10-€ 15 and are available now from the Box Office on: 071- 9855833.

5 SONG WORLD

Song World will play this Sunday the 7th of May in the Hawk’s Well Theatre from 8.00pm. Also featuring Eli West, Amy O’Hara & Tara Baoth Mooney. Well- known for his work with Cahalen Morrison, Tim O’Brien, Jayme Stone and more, the Seattle- based singer and multi- instrument­alist oozes understate­d talent. A night not to be missed.

6 TRACTOR RUN

The Coolaney Tractor, Honda and Vintage car run will be held in aid of Down Syndrome Sligo this Sunday the 7th May at 2.00pm. Registrati­on from 1.00pm. Entry is € 20. Refreshmen­ts afterwards in the Mountain Inn. Contact Joanne O’Grady on 0860725261 for more informatio­n.

7 YOGA AND BRUNCH This Saturday the 6th of May the Shells Cafe Saturday Yoga & Brunch Club with Salt & Soul Studio is taking place. Start your Saturday with a yoga class. Afterwards join in Shells Cafe, facing the Atlantic for a Yogi Brunch Table. Arts and Health Check Up, Check In is an annual networking event for arts and healthcare practition­ers and artists who work in healthcare settings taking place on May 5 from 9.30 in the Model Sligo. Join in at this unique arts and health get- together brought to you by artsandhea­lth. ie, Create and Arts Initiative in Mental Health, Sligo. Admission is € 20 per person including lunch.
