DERMOT AND DAVE
Today FM duo Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore have just announced another 9 new shows, this coming October, with their hilarious comedy show.
Entitled the ‘Ah Sure Lookit’ tour, Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore debuted their comedy show at the first Cork Comedy Festival in September 2016 and the following month at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival in Galway. Both shows sold out in record time. The pair have also just completed a sold-out, 14-date Nationwide Tour.
This was the first time the pair had taken to the stage for a comedy gig but they’re well used to each other, having worked together in radio for over 15 years.
Asked what people can expect from their stand up show, Dermot Whelan said: : “Imagine a bonkers radio show that grows legs and arms and a head and starts firing out craic and waving its arms like an angry King Kong in that movie. Not even close.”Dave Moore commented: “It’s all our listeners’ favourite characters, stand-up, improvised comedy, music and an interactive gardening segment – what’s not to love?!”
Whether it’s Tony Cascarino hosting a crazy quiz show or Noni, Limerick’s finest chocolate saleswoman, presenting the world’s weirdest slideshow, this show is definitely like no other and not to be missed! They come to the Clayton Hotel on the 29 th of September.
UNDERNEATH
Following the runaway international success of Forgotten and Silent, Fishamble presents Pat Kinevane’s third solo play, Underneath at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Thursday the 13th of July. Directed by longtime collaborator Jim Culleton, this stunning new play is a blackly comic, rich and vivid tale of a life lived in secret, a testament to the people who live on the fringes, under the nose of everyday life, exploring the surface, and what lies underneath.
This final instalment in The Kinevane Trilogy is a show will that will not disappoint both long-term fans and newcomers to Pat Kinevane’s work.
Tickets are €15/12Friends with a special Go See rate of €7.50 for under 18s (plus €1 Hawk’s Well Renovation fee) and are available from the Hawk’s Well Theatre box office on 071 9161518.
