CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the Kilglass NS Girls’ team on claiming the 4-teacher school county title last Sunday afternoon in Markievicz Park. This was a very impressive result and a great achievement; well to all the players, mentors and parents.

ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

Our intermediate team secured an important win over Tourlestrane in Division Three last Sunday evening in Quigabar. Only a single point separated the sides at the finish, 2-14 to 2-13 after a cracking contest.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team return to league action on Friday evening when they host Curry in Quigabar at 7 p.m. Our under-16s play St Mary’s tomorrow evening (Monday) at 7 p.m. in Quigabar. Our under-12s play Curry on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in Quigabar. Good luck all.

FEILE WEEKEND – Our under-14s had a fantastic weekend at Féile in Ballinagh, Co Cavan. They won two group games against Ballinagh and Mountnugent to qualify for the cup quarter-final, but fell to a strong St Patrick’s Óg side from Longford in the last eight. It was an absolutely fantastic weekend and we extend a heartfelt thanks to Ballinagh GAA Club for their terrific hospitality and friendship throughout the weekend. Our players acquitted themselves very well and did the club and county proud on the national stage.

We thank Johnny Mullaney our bus driver, sponsors Ken Foley of Supermacs for the team gear and Milo Tuffy (Milo’s and Gala) for refreshments for the team, and Michael Duffy, who was physio for the weekend. Well done to the management team of John Paul Carden and Brian Coleman too on their work with the players and organising the weekend so well. On the domestic scene earlier this week, the lads qualified for the Division Two Shield final with an excellent 6-10 to 2-19 over Shamrock Gaels in Coola. Details of the final fixture will be made available shortly.

BONFIRE NIGHT – Many thanks to the Ladies Committee and Sheridan’s Kilglass for organising a very enjoyable bonfire night last Friday evening. It was a great event once again and everyone enjoyed the evening free of charge. We look forward to it again next year.

COUNTY SCENE – Best wishes to Ciaran O’Dowd, Josh Ellis, Eoin Hallinan and all the Sligo minors in their Connacht Championship clash with Leitrim on Wednesday evening. Gavin Duffy excelled for the Sligo under-16s last Friday evening, scoring 1-2 for the home side in an impressive win over Mayo.
