ST MICHAEL’S CHURCH
St Michael’s Church Cloonacool will have a stall at the Old Fair Day in Tubbercurry on Wednesday, August 9, with a guess the weight of the animal(s) competition. Tickets will be on sale from any of the stewards in attendance on the day.
DRAMA GROUP
Swinford Drama Group will present their play ‘The Two Loves Of Gabriel Foley’ a hilarious comedy by well known author Jimmy Keary in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday, August 25, at 8 p.m. Proceeds from both of these fundraisers will go towards the church renovation fund. All support for both fundraising events will be very much appreciated.
COMMUNITY PARK DRAW
The Community Park Draw for July took place in Brennans on Saturday night, the winner of €200 was Frank Johnston, €100 went to James McCarrick Dunmore and €50 each went to David Mullarkey and Aiden Kilcoyne. Consolation prizes went to Peadar Conway, The Oliver family Carrowreagh knox, Dermot Weld, Kathleen McCarrick and Ella, Ethan and Dylan Kennedy Tourlestrane. Many thanks for your continued and generous support. Tickets are now on sale for our new lotto draw which starts in September.
It has been decided to change our members draw from its present format to a more typical style lotto draw, where any match four winners will win or share in a jackpot prize of at least €1,000 with any match-three winners sharing €200 each month. The jackpot will increase by €100 each and every month that it rolls over. We are asking for your continued and generous support when we call to you over the coming weeks.
HOUSE CONCERT
Greenshine will play in concert at Moy River Folk Club at Moy River B&B Cloonacool on Monday, August 7, at 8 p.m. Summer sounds in old-time, country and folk. Booking essential at 087 2512030.
SLIGO ROSE
Cloonacool native and Sligo Rose, Lisa Maloney, will be holding a send-off party for her journey to the Dome in Tralee on Saturday, August 12, in Brennans Bar Cloonacool. Come along for a fun social night of music and some dancing.
CARD GAME
The Cloonacool Card Game takes place at 9 p.m. each Monday evening in Cloonacool Community Centre.
MUSIC CLUB
Cloonacool Music Club takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9: 30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. Please ring 071 9185037 for further information and to book your seat. There will be a minimal charge for the bus.
