The Sligo Champion

Rackhouse split ahead of album

-

THEY’RE one of Sligo’s most popular acts having burst on to the music scene some years ago.

And now, Rackhouse Pilfer say they will be taking a break, although their new album will be released before they go their separate ways, at least for a short period of time.

‘sOLAR Lunar’ will be released later this month.

In a statement, the band said that they achieved things they ‘never dreamt’ they could and that they want to spend more time with their families.

The statement read as follows: “We’ve got some good news, and some bad news to share with you today Rackhouse Followers.

“Firstly we’re delighted to announce we’ ll be officially launching our New Album ‘Solar Lunar’ on September 22nd and 23rd at Sixth Venue in conjunction with 5 th on Teeling Sligo. We’re planning two massive party nights, with some brilliant special guests.

“Tickets will be on sale soon. The album will be available from our website, iTunes and Amazon worldwide from Sept 22nd. Please do help us spread the word.

“Unfortunately these gigs will also be our last gigs, at least for the foreseeable future. We have decided to take a break from Rackhouse Pilfer.

“It’s been a crazy and fun, but intensely busy 5 and half years together, and we’ve achieved things we never dreamt we could.

“With all of those achievement’s there has been a ton of work done both in front of, and behind the curtains.

“And at this present moment we are feeling a little tired, and that we would like to spend more time with our young fam- ilies, and try new things for a while. We are not sure how long this hiatus will be for at this point, but hopefully we’ ll be back sooner rather than later.

“We want to sincerely thank each and every one of our loyal followers for everything you have done for us.

“Whether you’ve come to a gig, bought our albums or sent us a positive message.

“All of these things we have appreciated so much. We would have achieved nothing without your help, belief and support.

“Thank you so much for telling everybody about this bunch of musician type dudes from Sligo.

And of course we want to thank all of the venues, and everybody in the business that we have had the pleasure of working for and with over the past few years.

“Way too many to mention individually, but you all know who you are.

“We made a very special connection with all of the people we worked with, we truly treasure the time you gave us, and the belief you had in us.

We would love if you all would join us one last time at SIXth in Sligo on Sept 22nd and 23rd. It will be a party we promise!

“And where ever you are please do buy our new album ‘Solar Lunar’, we worked so hard on this one, and we are mighty proud of it, we hope you’ ll all love it too.

“And please stay with us on our social media platforms. Even though we may not be gigging live, we be releasing some great new video’s, and stuff like that for you to enjoy. Please do keep supporting more live music, especially our own Irish musicians!”
