The Hawk’s Well Theatre’s Autumn/ Winter programme includes a wonderful range of courses and workshops for adults and children alike. For adults with a literar y interest, there will be an afternoon Creative Writing Workshop with Jane Clarke on Saturday the 9th of September and on Saturday the 18th of November, Carlo Gébler will return to the theatre to deliver his own day-l ong writing workshop.

The popular Acting for Adults evening course with Jean-Marie Perinetti returns for si x weeks on Monday the 11th of September. This year, the theatre are producing an exciting new course especially for profession­al actors; The Architectu­re and Playabilit y of Theatre will be delivered by Mikel Murfi over three days from Friday 29th September to Sunday the 1st of October. The theatre are l aunching an exciting new drama programme in November, Sligo Acts. This fun acting programme is suitable for those with plent y of performanc­es under their belt as well as those just starting to tread the boards and there will be an introducto­r y workshop taking place at the theatre on Sunday the 19th of November. There are l ots of singing-related activities to l ook for ward to – both one day events as well as a series of courses. Majors to Minors Choir for parents, grandparen­ts and children alike provides an opportunit y for families and multiple generation­s to interact in a creative setting and runs from Tuesday the 26th of September for eight weeks. In preparatio­n for the Sligo Sings concert in November, the Hawk’s Well Community Choir will be meeting at the theatre over eight weeks from Tuesday the 26 September. The popular social sing-along evenings, Sing for the hell of it! begins again on Saturday the 18th of November with a special Christmas sing-along planned for Tuesday 28th of November when a Christmas Song for Sligo will be recorded with Kieran Quinn.

For children there is a wonderful line up of music and drama courses beginning this September. Toddler Drama, a course for the ver y young returns on Saturday the 16th of September. Under the relaxed and experience­d eye of tutor Deirdre Gaule, parents will enjoy bonding with their child as they play, sing and dance together. Another fun and engaging drama course with Deirdre, Drama at the Well, kicks off at the theatre for another season on Thursday the 21st of September for primar y school kids.
