Female entrepreneurs urged to take part in free courses

-

Female entrepreneurs starting out in Sligo and looking for expert advice can apply for a place on a Government funded course.

ACORNS is a six month part time development programme for early stage female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland. The programme will run from October 2017 to April 2018 and is fully funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. There is no charge for successful applicants.

The deadline for application for this year’s ACORNS programme is Friday 22 September 2017.

Previous participant Aisling Kelly of WB’s Coffee House in Sligo said: “ACORNS did exactly what it says – ‘accelerates’ you and your business. My Lead Deirdre and the girls in our group were fantastic support and I am so thrilled I got a chance to take part.”

Interested female entrepreneurs can access information and register their interest at www.acorns.ie.

Spokeswoman Aishling Cronin said: “The ACORNS initiative is focused on developing the potential of female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland who have recently started a business or who have taken concrete steps towards setting up a business. It is based on a clear understanding that entrepreneurs learn best from each other and the initiative is focussed on peer support and collaborative learning.”
