ST MOLAISE GAELS
CONGRATULATIONS to our Boys U14 squad and Management on a brilliant 3-16 to 4-05 win over St Mary’s to retain the A Championship title at Markievicz Park on Thursday night last. Both teams deserve huge credit for the high standard of football served up in terrible conditions. Gaels led by 1-06 to 2-01 at the interval. St Mary’s scored two goals in quick succession midway through the second period to lead by 4-04 to 1-11. However Gaels produced a brilliant final quarter with goals from Ewan Rippan, Luke Casserly and Jack McGovern to emerge deserved winners. The whole squad have worked very hard under the management of Brian McGowan, Daragh Fallon and Stephen Carroll all season and it is a great achieve- ment for the Club to have now won back to back titles at U14 A Grade. Coming a week after our U11 Boys won their county title it has been a very successful period for the Club. On the same evening our U16 Girls qualified for the championship final with a 7-01 to 1-07 win at home to Coolera/Strandhill. Our junior men have topped Group I of the B Championship after last Saturday’s 0-17 to 2-08 win against Calry/St Joseph’s in Scarden. The team are now set for a semi final clash in a few weeks time. Tonight Tuesday Sept 12th our U13 Boys open their Féile campaign with a home fixture against Coolera/ Strandhill at 6.15pm. Our annual “Cash for Clobber” fundraiser will conclude shortly. If anyone has old clothes and footwear that they don’t need the Club would be delighted to take these. Goods can be left at the Club rooms during the Parish League. which starts this Saturday September 16th with Girls games at 10.00am and Boys fixtures at 11.15am. Details will be circulated in the schools during the coming week. Our next Club Lotto Draw takes place on Monday September 25th. Thanks to everyone in our Community for the continued generous support that the club receives for this critical fundraiser. The Club were saddened to learn of passing of Club Patron Michael Leyden Dunfore Ballinfull last weekend. The next Club meeting will take place on Tuesday September 26th at 9.00pm.

ENNISCRONE/KILGLASS
INTERMEDIATE
OUR intermediate team saw their championship hopes end on Sunday afternoon at Markievicz Park at the quarter final stage, with Geevagh emerging as 3-14 to 2-10 winners. The team will rue the concession of three very poor goals over the course of the hour, and a dreadful start where Geevagh racked up 2-3 in the opening ten minutes. To their credit, our lads closed the gap to five points in the closing stages but Geevagh ran out deserved winners. It was a very disappointing way for the campaign to end and it is a case of what might have been once again, but the lads worked hard until the end. With their championship involvement now complete, the team awaits confirmation of their Abbott Cup semi-final fixture. Thanks to the large travelling support for making their way to Sligo in terrible conditions last Sunday. MINOR
THE Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team play Tubbercurry/ Cloonacool on Friday evening at 6.15pm in Quigabar in their final championship group game. U-14
OUR U-14s made a disappointing exit from the shield competition last Thursday evening with Castleconnor ending as 7-5 to 5-5 winners at Quigabar in the semi-final. Despite a poor showing last Thursday, the lads can reflect on a very busy year where they improved immensely throughout. Thanks to John Paul, Brian, and all players and parents for their efforts throughout the year.

NAOMH EOIN HURLING
GREAT win for our U-16 hurlers who qualified for next week’s championship final v group table-toppers Easkey/St. Farnan’s with a great comeback win away to Benbulben Gaels in Oxfield last Tuesday. This win ensured we pipped the home side to second spot with three group wins out of four games. Down by eight points (3-8 to 2-3) at half time, our U-16’s fought back skilfully and tenaciously in the second half, limiting Benbulben to a single point, and firing 3-4 to win 5-7 to 3-9 at the finish. Fionn Sheridan was the chief goal-scorer with four excellent 3-pointers and full forward, Fergal O’Kelly-Lynch, was deadly accurate from frees, bagging 1-4. Darragh Feehily, Ethan Scully and Darragh Cawley also got on the scoresheet as the lads finished strongly. The Naomh Eoin backs defended resolutely in the second half with ‘keeper Michael Munnelly, full back Paul Gallagher, and the excellent half-back line of Ethan Scully, Donal Keaveny, and Michael Morgan particularly outstanding. Liam O’Kelly-Lynch was impressive at midfield with a massive hard-working and tough-tackling performance. Naomh Eoin U-16 team: Michael Munnelly; Stephen Mahon, Paul Gallagher, Keelan Davey, Ethan Scully, Donal Keaveny, Michael Morgan, Darragh Cawley, Liam O’Kelly-Lynch, Rian Gorman, Aaron Mulvey, Darragh Feehily, Fionn Sheridan, Fergal O’Kelly-Lynch, Oisín Davey, Anthony Fidgeon. The winning time for our annual fundraiser, the All Ireland “Golden Goal” competition, was 4 minutes and 9 seconds. The holder of the ticket with the winning time can contact the club on 0876177675 or 0868622537 before 9pm on 30th September. Thanks to all our ticket sellers and supporters who purchased envelopes. Congrats to our U-12 hurlers Shea O’Neill, Robert O’Kelly-Lynch, Ronan Niland and Dara Mostyn who won the County Skills competition on Friday evening. They will represent Sligo in the Connacht finals.
TOURLESTRANE
OUR Senior lads had a comprehensive win against Coolaney/ Mullinabreena in a rain drenched pitch in Curry with some torrential downpours throughout. Kilcoyne Park was deemed unplayable so the venue was changed after a pitch inspection early in the day. Half time saw the teams at 5 points to 2 in our favour and our lads doubled their scores in the second thirty minutes and held the opposition scoreless to leave the result at Tourleestrane 10 points Coolaney/Mullinabreena 2 points. Friday night last saw our minor hurlers clock up a great win v Tubbercurry with the score at the final whistle at 4/13 to 2/8. A speedy recovery is wished to Cian Durkin who sustained a knee injury in the game. The u14 boys were unlucky in their A1 Football Final in Scarden on Thursday evening and lost out to a stronger Drumcliff/ Rosses Point team and our u14 girls were beaten by Eoghan Rua in their game on Tuesday evening also. We hope Lauren Normanly who missed the game Tuesday due to an ankle injury she picked up last weekend makes a full recovery soon. Our U 14 Hurlers played a well fought close encounter with Tubbercurry on Tuesday night. This game ended in a draw in the final moments of the game when Tubbercurry equalised. By now you will all be aware of a local upcoming fundraising event with ladies the like who have never been seen outside of a Miss World pageant!!!!Support Bros of Tralee fundraiser and four very worthy charities : Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Hugh’s House, Friends of Sligo University Hospital and the Rotunda Foundation. This is an all ticket event so make sure you get yours in time.
