TUBBERCURRY
TUBBERCURRY golf club wins a second Connacht title. At the beginning of the summer 17th June Tubbercurry won the inaugural Connacht 9 hole course inter club competition. Since then they have been in two Connacht semi-finals as well as being in zone finals and semi finals. Their second title is the Jack O’Sullivan trophy. A ten member team played in four ball format. Their final opponents were Castlebar played over 2 legs. The 1st leg was played in Tubbercurry on Sat 2nd Sep. Tubbercurry won 4 of the 5 matches. The 2nd leg was in Castlebar on 9th. Tubbercurry needed 2 of the 5 matches to clinch the title. This was a demanding challenge as the weather was inclement and in away there was no guarantees. 1st match out was Fergus Marren and Michael Hearn. They won 2 and 1. The 3 following matches were still in progress when Mark Burke and Eoin Gallagher won 4 and 3. Victory to Tubbercurry. Results

ANOTHER West Coast Challenge concluded this week with mixed conditions however the feedback from the players was very positive and the course changes were given the thumbs up.
Our Senior’s under Captain Declan McCabe had his Captain’s away trip to Belmullet on Wed/Thur. The Carne course offers a great challenge and all of the seniors enjoyed the golf and thanks to Sean Dwyer for providing the music and not forgetting the contribution of our multi-talented seniors.
