BEEKEEPING EVENING
Peter Carter, Education Office with Sligo Leitrim Beekeepers Association will host an information evening at the Benwiskin Centre, Ballintrillick, Tuesday, September 19, from 8 p.m. 9.30 p.m. This evening is being hosted in response to requests in our recent centre survey. The topics covered will include, difference between honey bees and wasps; the hive and it’s population; different castes of honey bee; swarming; life cycle of the honey bee; stings, pollination etc; honey – from flower to jar; importance of local honey; other bee products.
The talk will be followed by a questions and answers section. Please register your interest if attending this event by calling 071 9176721. This is a free event but a nominal fee would be welcome for refreshments.
SAFE PASS TRAINING
Safe Pass Health and Safety Awareness Training takes place on October 21. It is important that you register for this course by September 15. Course content includes; Module 1 – Site safety and the Construction Worker; Module 2 – Introduction to Risk Assessment; Module 3 – Implementing Risk Assessment; Module 4 – General Site Safety; Module 5 – Personal Safety. HARVEST/CRAFT FAIR

BOYLE BOOK CLUB
Boyle Library Book Club is eager as always to welcome new members. Meetings are held monthly in the library, at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday mid-month. More details can be had from Boyle Library. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the best of books and the liveliest discussion and to present their own suggestions to the group. Book for Sept is ‘Dear Life’ by Alice Munro and there are copies in the library. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 13, at 11 a.m.
BLOOD DONATION CLINIC
The Clinic will be held at St Joseph’s Hall, Boyle on Wednesday, September 13, from 4.30 till 8 p.m. Hope to see you at the Clinic.
HOSPICE COFFEE
The annual coffee morning will be held throughout Ireland on Thursday, September 14. Boyle Support Group will have theirs in the Family Life Centre from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Also hosting a coffee morning in Boyle are Clarkes, Daly’s, Stewarts Oil and the Open Table Restaurant. Please enjoy a cuppa in one of our venues and donate to the Palliative Care in our area.
CURLEW WALKERS CLUB

SCOUT REGISTRATION
Registration Night for all New and Existing members will be held on Wednesday, September 20, between 7 p.m. And 9 p.m. in the Scout Den. All Parents, who wish to enrol a child for the coming year, must please register them on this night. The minimum age is strictly six years old.
Please note that while they are accepting registration of New Members, places will be dependent both on returning member numbers and leader numbers and therefore cannot be immediately guaranteed. Weekly meetings will resume where possible the following week, beginning Monday, September 25.
Due to a shortage of leaders, some of our Sections will not be able to re-open, as things stand. We are trying to address this situation, and appeal to anyone that may be willing to help out, to please take that leap of faith and contact us. Being a leader can be hugely rewarding, many people even finding that they enjoy it. Full training will be provided, particular skills are not required. Anyone, who may be interested in becoming a leader in any of the Sections would be most welcome and can contact the Group Leader at 086 8360222 or any leader for further details.
JOINT POLICING MEETING
King House in Boyle will be the venue for a Public Meeting of County Roscommon Joint Policing Committee. It will take place on Thursday, September 28, commencing at 7 p.m.
All members of the public are invited to attend and put questions to the committee concerning policing in the county. Questions should be received no later than Thursday, September 21, to Breta Coyle, community and Enterprise, Aras an Chontae, Roscommon or to bcoyle@roscommoncoco.ie.
