To celebrate Heritage Week commencing August 19, Moylough Arts and Heritage Centre hosted a photo exhibition and demonstration of vintage cameras in the centre on August 19 and 20. Interest in the events exceeded the expectations of the organisers which resulted that the viewing was extended for a number of extra days, and continued for many more with visitors from home and abroad identifying school colleagues, neighbours, friends, or sportspeople of bygone days creating much discussion and nostalgia among all who visited the exhibition.
Ciaran McGowan of ‘Ciaran’s Cameras’ demonstrated a major collections of antique cameras which he has collected over many years which held the interest of a large audience who were amazed by the quality and quantity of cameras bringing back many happy memories to so many people.
Launching the photo exhibition Brian Cahill in his address of welcome, thanked everyone for their support with setting up of exhibition. His interest in photography commenced when as a pupil in Moylough NS he photographed classes and their teachers He was privileged over the years to reord many events in the community, including recent photos of classes and teachers in St Patrick’s N.S.
