Racing sea­son ends to­mor­row

THE fi­nal fix­ture of the Sligo Races sea­son takes place on Wed­nes­day 27th Septem­ber with a seven race all Na­tional Hunt Card con­sist­ing of seven steeplechases. The first race be­gins at 2:15pm.

The Races in­clude: 2.15 – The Ir­ish Stal­lion Farms EBF Mares Be­gin­ners Steeplechase of €15,000;

2.50 – The Print­fix Be­gin­ners Steeplechase of €12,500;

3.20 – The Mad­dens Bar & Restau­rant Hand­i­cap Steeplechase of €20,000 (Fea­ture Race);

3.55 – The Frank O’Beirne Me­mo­rial Be­gin­ners Steeplechase of €12,500;

4.30 – Con­grat­u­la­tions to Derek Fox on Win­ning the Ain­tree Grand Na­tional from Sligo Races Stee- plechase of €14,500;

5.00 – The Leo McMor­row Novice Hand­i­cap Steeplechase of €12,500;

5.30 – The Brenda An­der­son Me­mo­rial Hand­i­cap Steeplechase of €11,500 (Rated 0-109).

The to­tal prize money on of­fer is €98,500. Kathryn Fo­ley, Man­ager of Sligo Races said: “It is also Stu­dents Day at Sligo Races and we are look­ing for­ward to wel­com­ing the stu­dents from In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy Sligo, St An­gela’s Col­lege, Sligo, as well as stu­dents from other col­leges. We are look­ing for­ward to a large turnout es­pe­cially with the at­trac­tive Na­tional Hunt card on of­fer to­gether with our stu­dents who are the race­go­ers of the fu­ture,” she added.

The Sligo Races 201 sea­son is con­clud­ing to­mor­row with the pop­u­lar Stu­dents Day. First race is off at 2:15pm.
