DOORS OF HELL AT STEPHEN ST CAR PARK!
The gateway to hell has opened in Sligo - until January at least. They can be found inside a ‘ barn’ specially constructed in Stephen Street Car Park to house a range of Halloween and Christmas themed events.
Locals and visitors are currently enjoying The Haunted Barn scary tour and Festival of Shadows.
Eddie Mulrooney is running the Haunted Barn, a Halloween tour with ghoulish actors lined up to terrify every man, woman and child who crosses their path until tomorrow November 1st.
Sligo Festival of Shadows was run by Tony Conway from Hearts Desire café.
A group of local vintners are behind Sligo Craft Beer and Gin Festival which starts this Friday and Saturday November 3rd and 4 th.
The structure will also host a Sligo On Ice rink, organised by Eddie Mulrooney from 17 th November until January 14 th.
The whole development is the brainchild of Sligo Business Improvement District (BID) and Sligo County Council which both supported the installation of the covered structure or ‘BID Barn’ in a bid to increase footfall to Sligo town.
Sligo BID hopes to complete a feasibility study demonstrating the value of a public covered space in the centre of town.
They will monitor and compare footfall for the same period in previous years to assess impact.
The sole purpose of the installation and the financial commitment made on behalf of BID members is to attract additional footfall to Sligo from October to Mid-January. See www.bidbarn.ie for more.
