ST COLMAN’S 4-6 SUMMERHILL COLLEGE 5-13

CONNACHT C SCHOOLS HURLING

THE Summerhill senior hurlers took on St Coleman’s of Claremorris in the first round of the Connacht senior C hurling competition.

The game took place last Tuesday and the Sligo hurlers were in impressive form.

Summerhill travelled the short journey to St Coleman’s with Summerhill getting off to a brilliant start and led from the front.

An early goal from Daire Muldowney set the tone for the Summerhill team, a brace of goals before the break from Fergal O’Kelly-Lynch along with some great free taking from Roan Con- neely throughout the game.

St Coleman’s came back strong before the break and ended the better of the two teams.

Summerhill started the second half the brighter of the two and kept a six point lead for most of the second half.

Niall Feehily lead the team from centre back.

Tristan Gilligan dominated mid field and up front Liam and Fergal O’Kelly-Lynch played blinders in attack.

Michael Munnelly showed his quick hands and smart thinking for a few scores.

The man that stood head and shoulders above the rest was Fionn Connolly.

His reading of the game and his fielding in the air along with his vision at picking out his team mates was superb.

The side are back in action when they face Westport, when they return from the mid-term break.

Venue and time yet to be announced.
