GAA CLUB NOTES

CHEF ADRIAN – It’s getting closer to our night with Chef Adrian in the Diamond Coast. Thursday, November 9, tickets cost €20 which includes a free glass of wine. This was a most enjoyable night when last held and May I suggest (as a man) that it is a very entertaini­ng night for both the men and women. So hoping to see you there. Tickets available from committee members. There will also be stalls there on the night with Jinny’s Bakery already confirmed (Good man Pascal)

MONTHLY MEETING – The November club meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 1, at 8.30 p.m. The AGM is scheduled for Friday, November 24, at 8.30 p.m.

GAELIC FOR MOTHERS AND OTHERS – Castleconn­or GAA are starting mothers and others Gaelic football team. We are hoping to be up and running in the next couple of weeks. So spread the word this is for any woman looking to have a bit of craic and fun, it doesn’t matter if you have never played before....all the better this won’t be taken too seriously.

BRIDGE CLUB

The Enniscrone social Bridge club is played weekly at the Diamond Coast Hotel commencing at 7.30 p.m. The results for h October 25, are first Anne Treacy and Mary Flynn, second Odette Casey and Des Sweeney. Next week November 1 the game will be in memory of Fr Séamus Heffernan the clubs first president.

COLLECTION THANKS

Tireragh Community Support Ltd would like to thank everyone who supported their church gate collection­s on Sunday, October22. HERB/WILDFLOWER GARDEN

The funding that was successful­ly received from the Department of Rural and Community Developmen­t Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017 for Easkey will be utilised for the developmen­t of a culinary and medicinal herb and wildflower garden. We will be producing our own wildflower and herb seed for sale, as well as fresh and dried herbs.

To do this work we need to buy drying equipment, storage, polytonal, packaging, sealing machine for seeds, compost and all the necessary tools and equipment. There will also be limited trail surface enhancemen­ts and map board informatio­n on the existing Laundry Walk to transform it into a nature trail that can be enjoyed by our entire community.

RAMBLING HOUSE

Dromore West Village Enhancemen­t Committee want to thank everyone who came out and supported the recent Rambling House Seisiun in the Still Bar Dromore West, a great night of fun, music, singing, storytelli­ng and dancing was enjoyed by a full house. A DVD of the night will be on sale shortly.

PHOTO COMPETITIO­N

The Dromore West Calendar photo competitio­n is in full swing. Submission­s for the summer Shots have been uploaded to the Dromore West website and voting is now taking place. To place your vote visit dromorewes­t.ie – click on the Community Enhancemen­t tab at the top of the page and then on Photo Competitio­n – to vote click on the little star on the corner of the image.

MONSTER BINGO

Easkey Community Council will hold a Monster Bingo in the Diamond Coast Hotel on Sunday, November 19, at 3 p.m. with €3,800 in prizes and a raffle.

ORANGE TIE BALL

Enniscrone has been chosen to host this year’s Cycle Against Suicide ‘Orange Tie Ball’ which will take place in the Diamond Coast Hotel on Saturday, November 11.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on October 20. Numbers drawn were 8, 9, 12 and 32. €25 winners Romana Mallon, Kirsty Kavanagh, Terry Cawley, Róisín McHugh, and Chloe Timpson Promoter’s prize: Willie Brady. DIAMOND LADIES LUNCH

The Diamond Ladies Lunch in aid of SHOUT will be held on Friday, December 1, in the Diamond Coast. There will be a champagne reception at 12.15 followed by lunch at 1 p.m. Tickets available from usual outlets.
