WEDDING

The wedding took place of Shauna Mullaney daughter of Bernie and Martin Mullaney, of Lacknaslev­a, Enniscrone to Eamon Munnelly of Ballina. The celebrant of the wedding ceremony was Fr Eddie Rogan and took place in the Church of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven, followed by the reception in the Diamond Coast Hotel. We wish the couple, a long and happy life together.

BEACH CLEAN

Enniscrone Tidy Towns/Coast Care, in associatio­n with Apres Tea, are organising a clean-up of plastics and other debris from Enniscrone beach on Sunday, November 5. Come out for a walk and help protect our beach and seas. Bags and pickers provided. Free tea, coffee or hot chocolate available for all who participat­e. Meet at Lifeguard station for a midday start.

FUNDRAISIN­G CONCERT

There will be a Fundraisin­g Concert for Kilglass National School in the Church of the Holy Family on Friday, November 10, at 8 p.m. Children from the school, past pupils, members of Tíreragh Comhaltas, members of the Bofield Ceili Band, Colm O’Donnell and more will be performing on the night. SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Bridge is played weekly at the Diamond coast Hotel, commencing at 7.30. The results of October 25 are as follows: First Anne Treacy and Mary Flynn, second Odetter Casey and Des Sweeney. Next week November 1 is our night in memory of the late Fr, Séamus Heffernan our first president.

ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/ Easkey under-21 minors play Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena in the opening round of the under-21 Championsh­ip next weekend. At the time of writing no time, date or venue was available. Best wishes to the team and management for the upcoming campaign.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass-Easkey under-16s progressed to the next round of the long-delayed under-16 A championsh­ip courtesy of a 2-13 to 0-13 defeat of Tubbercurr­y/Cloonacool last Tuesday. They now play Curry in another playoff this Tuesday evening at 6.45 p.m. in Scarden.

HURLING

Commiserat­ions to Western Gaels on their narrow loss to Calry/St Joseph’s in last Sundays county final. The final score was 2-15 to 3-10 after an entertaini­ng contest. The team will hope to make amends for this defeat in the final stages of the league.

FUNDRAISER

An evening of words, music and song from the period of the war will be held in Gillooly Hall on Saturday, November 11, at 8 p.m. Proceeds to go towards erecting a memorial to the memory of the eight men from Enniscrone and 12 men from Castleconn­or, killed fighting in the Great War 19141918. The Crafters continue to meet on Thursday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tourist Informatio­n Office. New members are most welcome.

There was no winner of the jackpot €12,200 when the draw took place on Saturday night in Sheridan’s Pub. Numbers drawn were 32, 37 and 38. €25 winners were Kevin Donegan, Jason Culkin, Nick Morris and Mary Cawley.
