This Sunday in the Hawk’s Well, Song World, featuring Dervish’s Cathy Jordan along with Anna Gevalt-Roberts and Elizabeth Laprelle, is a mustsee for music fans. Anna and Elizabeth are two of the most exciting young American traditional musicians on the contemporary scene. They will join Cathy, who is renowned around the world in what should be an excellent evening of music from 8pm.
2 THEY CALLED HER VIVALDI
Due to popular demand, family favourites Theatre Lovett are once again touring Ireland with this upbeat comedy-adventure. It comes to the Hawk’s Well on Thursday at 12:45pm and 7:30pm. Ideal for families with children aged 7 and above.
3 NOBODY’S TALKING TO ME
Nobody’s Talking to Me, written by Tommy Marren is set in rural Ireland in the early 1970’s and is best described as a ‘full blown’ Irish rural comedy and the follow-up to the hugely successful ‘It’s the Real McCoy’. It comes to the Coleman Centre, Gurteen, on Friday and Saturday at 8pm.
4 RUGBY CLUB’S BOSTON TEA PARTY
This Saturday night sees Sligo Rugby Club host its Boston Tea Party Fundraiser at the Glasshouse Hotel from 8pm. There will be 25 tables and entertainment afterwards at a cost of €25 a seat. This is a fun night out and an excellent way to generate much-needed funds to keep the club running in the manner at such a high standard. 6 MARTIN HAYES AND DENNIS CAHILL
This Friday, these two respected traditional musicians are back in the Hawk’s Well theatre at 8pm. Cahill’s spare, essential accompaniment to Martin Hayes’ fiddle is acknowledged as a major breakthrough for guitar in the Irish tradition. A

7 INFORMAL MUSIC AFTERNOON
This Sunday, the popular IMA is on in the Model for some relaxing afternoon jazz. Musicians play classical pieces in addition to an eclectic mix of folk, traditional and jazz. From 1pm.
8 OISÍN MACDIARMADA
The acclaimed Sligo fiddle player is leading fiddle workshops on Saturday from 2-5pm in the Hawk’s Well. It’s a great chance to learn from one of Sligo’s top musicians.
