Eva shines on stage as she scoops ‘excellence award’
SLIGO student Eva Acheson, was the overall winner of the Excellence Award for Speech & Drama at the recent Leinster School of Music & Drama (LSMD) Excellence Awards.
Following in the footsteps of Al Porter and Laura Whitmore who were previous winners of this award, Eva was thrilled to take the title.
Eva attends lessons with Irene Fleming. She received an outstanding 97% in her Grade 10 Speech & Drama exam.
At the awards ceremony, Eva performed the part of Mary from ‘ The Tinker’s Wedding’ by John Millington.
The LSMD Excellence Awards is open to the 15,000 students across Ireland who took the school’s exams in the last year.
The top 520 students in the exams are then chosen to compete in the Excellence Awards and finalists are chosen from this group to perform at the Excellence Awards Concert which takes place annually in Griffith College.
The winner gets a coveted trophy and cheque for €300.
