Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of William McHugh Rooskeymore, who died recently.

ROSARY

The Rosary will be held at Toomour Abbey on Sunday, November 19, next at approximately 12.30 p.m. It is said that at this site in the sixth Century Bishop Lughaidh consecrated St Kevin of Glendalough as Patron Saint of our parish. The site was chosen as the Burial place of the Kings and Chieftains, who fell in the battle of Ceis Corrainn in 971 and it seems that it is the second largest royal cemetery in Europe.

It is understood that the church is medieval in date, perhaps 13th Century, with the West end used as a dwelling but that was altered later on. There are no records of when Toomour was last used. It is hoped by this Rosary to honour the dead buried here and indeed all other deceased in unmarked graves within our parish.

REMEMBRANCE MASS

There will be an annual Remembrance Mass at both the Saturday Vigil (Keash at 7 p.m.) and Sunday morning Masses (Culfadda at 10 a.m. and Keash at 11.30 a.m.) on the weekend of the 18th/November 19. Everyone, who has deceased family or friends connected with Keash/ Culfadda are requested to attend.

Each family will be asked to light a candle for the members of their family during this Mass and prayer will be offered for all those being remembered at these Masses.
