The introduction of the new forestry scheme has see the removal of farmer and non-farmer rates with a uniform premium for every landowner for years tax free and on top of that they retain their ownership on a forest that is increasing in value annually. Planting is grant aided and there is no cost to the investor for the development of forestry on their site. After years you, the investor, through thinning and harvesting of your site and at clearfell stage should receive a yield return of €8,000 per acre.
