The Model presents: Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, I stared at beauty so much: Waiting for the Barbarians, 2013 - a film made in response to the poem Waiting for the Barbarians by Constantine P Cavafy. Taking the poem “Waiting for the Barbarians“, the artists explore panoramic images of Beirut, shifting from mobile to immobile, and from the general to precise detail.
3 SUSHI & GREEK MEZZE COOKING DEMO
The Sushi Sisters present an Evening of Sushi & Greek Mezze Cooking Demonstrations and Tastings at The Strand Bar tomorrow (Wednesday) . Ever wanted to try the delicate art of Sushi-making or master the flavours of Greek Foods? Well now’s your chance. Tickets are €10 and all proceeds will go directly to support Elaine O’Halloran and her rehabilitation.
4 LULLABY BABIES
Hawk’s Well Theatre continues its Concerts for Babies series with Lullaby Babies on Sunday the 4th of February, with two shows scheduled; one at 12pm and a later show at 2pm. This music series is tailored especially for babies and their loved ones and features a broad variety of music performed by outstanding musicians in a safe, secure and child-friendly environment. Each event celebrates a different style of music and lasts approximately forty minutes.
5 A CELEBRATION OF MUSICAL THEATRE

8 THE WILLOUGHBY BROTHERS
International Singing sensation The Willoughby Brothers will take to the stage at Sligo Park Hotel on Friday 2nd of February all in aid of North West Hospice. This will be a night to remember and ticket sales are already booming. Doors will open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.
9 TIERNAN FAMILY IN CONCERT
The Tiernan family come to the Coleman Centre in Gurteen this Saturday, February 3rd. Seamus, Marianna and Kathryn Tiernan are musicians from Castlebar in County Mayo. They play a lively driven style of traditional music. Their parents who join them at performances are John Tiernan from Louisburgh (Button Accordion) and Katie Sweeney from Achill (Traditional singing).
10 THE WORD
A new monthly Author Reading, Q&A and Open Mic will take place at Sligo Central Library on Wednesday 31st January at 6.30pm. Award winning authors Eoin McNamee and Louise Kennedy will read from their work, followed by Q&A facilitated by Dr. Una Mannion, Programme Chair BA (Hons) Writing and Literature IT Sligo.
