way for the London trip to see Sligo V London in the 1st round of the Connacht Championsh­ip. The trip will be an all inclusive package including flights, hotel and transfers from the airport and to the match on Sunday 6th May. We plan to fly from Knock Airport on Friday morning 4th May to Stansted and rooms have been reserved at the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick. The flight will return on Monday 7th to Knock. Places are filling up fast so please contact Lauri Quinn on 087 2684044 or contact any club official for further details and reserve your place. THERE was no winner of the lotto draw at the weekend. The numbers drawn were 12, 18, 23, and 26. There were two match three winners, Gerard Kelly and Glen McDermott. The next draw is in Tommy Macs on 24th February with the jackpot at €3,100. THE club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Mary Gannon, Cambs who died last week. Mary comes from a family steeped in the tradition of the GAA and her late husband Paddy was one of the founding members of the club while her brother Paddy was also a founding member and first Chairman. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. We also express sympathy with the family and relatives of Tommy Breheny, Oakfield Rd who died at the weekend.

CLUB Player Registrati­on From Under 6 to Senior

ON Saturday last registrati­on for all club players took place. Registrati­on with our club includes

1. All training sessions and games 2. Indoor Programme for 6 weeks for Girls U6 to U 14 and Boys U6 to U10

3. One club Lotto ticket for each draw. The Jackpot is €12,000 at present

4. Safe and secure environmen­t for coaching sessions

5. Gain new friends and increase a child’s confidence

6. And most important of all have LOADS of fun and enjoyment COST €120 per family no matter how many are playing.

THE club boundaries are the parishes of St Annes and Carraroe. It is still not too late to join up if you did not make last Saturday’s session.

THE St Johns Underage Academy Coaching will start next weekend February 17th and 18th. Until the end of March all sessions will be held indoors.

BOYS U7/8 Saturday from 4-5pm and Boys U9/10Saturday 5-6pm; These will be held in The Sports Complex, Cleveragh Boys U11/12 Saturday from 3-4pm in The Tennis Club

GIRLS on Sunday U 7/8/9/10 from 4-5pm and U11/12/13/14 from 5-6pm both in the Sports Complex Cleveragh

CLUB Mass Sunday February 18th THE annual club mass in memory of the deceased members and friends of St John’s GAA Club will be held in St John’s Church, Carraroe at 9.30am on Sunday February 18th.

THE Lotto numbers drawn on Saturday 3rd were 11, 13, 26, 30. There was no winner of the Jackpot prize. CONGRATULA­TIONS to Tourlestra­ne Gaa man Tomas Henry and his beautiful bride Michelle Simpson on their recent marriage CONGRATULA­TIONS to Padraig Maye who is a shining example to any athlete both young and old of what can be achieved as recently Padraig picked up an “Outstandin­g Achievemen­t Award” at the Mayo County Board Athletics Awards. Padraig was awarded 5 medals in the Irish Masters last July. Well done Padraig. OUR sympathies to the Walsh family of Coolrecuil on the passing of Bridie Walsh this week and also to the Breheny Family and the St Mary’s Club on the passing of Tommy Breheny Snr.

COLLOONEY HANDBALL

BINGO takes place this Thursday at 9 p.m , the jackpot is €5,850 in 42 numbers. UNDERAGE handball has resumed on Saturday mornings at 11 am.

CUMMAN na mBunscoil finals took place in Collooney on Friday 02-02-2018. Thanks to David Dillon from Cumman na mBunscoil who was there along with County Board Chairman Francis McCann who presented the medals to the following ,U11 Oran McNulty Rathcormac bt Colin Finn Ballymote ,U11 dbls TJ Foody/Brian Donegan Stokane bt Mark Phealen /Thomas O’Brien Rathcormac ,U13 Darragh Bourke Corballa bt Clive Conway Collooney and at U13 doubles Michael Carroll / Joe Campbell Rathcormac were winners.

WELL done to Laura Finn who won her J B 40 x 20 ladies singles semi-final in Roscommon, she now plays Eimaer ni Bhiadhe in her Connaught final. GOOD luck to Karley Cooney at U13 grade and Cormac Finn U15 grade who play in Connaught finals next weekend.

ST MOLAISE GAELS

OUR 2018 club registrati­on night will take place on Wednesday February 14th from 7.00pm to 9.00pm in the Club House. Individual Membership costs €40 or a Family membership (2 adults and all children under 18) costs just €80. For 2018 we are starting a Hurling Coaching Academy for those U12. We will have our Hurling Coaches in attendance on Wednesday night with details of this new initiative.

THE next Lotto Draw will take place on Tuesday February 27th. Thank You to everyone for their continued support for this important Club fundraiser and to Londis and Supervalu Grange for facilitati­ng us with our fortnightl­y Sales stand. COACHING sessions for our “Couch to 5K” Programme continue this week at the North Sligo Sports Complex with Group 1 running from 7.15pm to 8.15pm Monday and Wednesday. Group 2 are scheduled for 8.30pm to 9.30pm on the same evenings while Group 3 are out on Tuesday and Thursday mornings form 9.30am to 10.30am

OUR annual “Cash for Clobber” fundraiser is also underway if you have any unwanted clothes or shoes they can be left at the Club Building at any time.

SCÓR na nÓg

AS the competitio­ns wind down on the field in the county, attention is now turning to GAA matters off the pitch. This is a special Winter season for Sligo GAA and its Scór Committee as we host the All Ireland Finals at both Scór Sinsir and Scór na nÓg levels. CLUBS are asked to make an extra special effort to get involved as we aim to have some home grown talent take to the stage of IT Sligo come Spring 2018. For the first time ever Scór na bPaistaí is being run for Primary School children in October in a bid to foster a relationsh­ip with the associatio­n and Scór.
