Library teams up with drama fest for art & craft exhibition
Tubbercurry Community Library, in association with the Western Drama Festival are welcoming the public to an Art and Craft Exhibition taking place at the library from March 6 th to 10 th next.
The exhibition will run under the theme ‘ The Next Chapter’ and is designed to highlight creativity in the South Sligo Community.
The exhibition itself will be a fringe event to run alongside this year’s Western Drama Festival ( WDF).
This particular festival celebrates 75 years of the WDF. The exhibition will officially open at the Library in Tubbercurry on Tuesday night 6 th March at 6pm.
Abbie McGowan of Tubbercurry Community Library said at the recent launch of the project, “Tubbercurry Community Library is delighted to host ‘ The Next Chapter’ exhibition in conjunction with the Western Drama Festival. By hosting this art exhibition, we feel that this is a new chapter for Tubbercurry Library as well.
“We are fully staffed, open five days a week every week, currently running the Healthy Ireland and Work Matters initiatives, and we’re hoping that this exhibition will be the start of many more collaborations with groups and societies in the area. 75 years is a huge achievement for any community group and it is our sincere hope that the library will be here to serve the community for just as long!”
The exhibition is open to all with an interest in exhibiting.
Artists and craftspeople are being asked to create an original piece of work under the theme ‘ The Next Chapter’.
