COMMUNITY GAMES

Congratula­tions to all the children from our area who competed last weekend in the Community Games in the Mixed Distance Relay and the Duathlon in Cleveragh: Drumcliffe came away with an impressive medal haul including Gold and Silver in the under-14 800m, Gold and Silver in the under-14 600m, Gold in the under-12 600m and Gold in the Duathlon.

Congratula­tions also to our teams who took part in the County Quiz held in Strandhill last weekend where Drumcliffe secured both the Gold and Bronze Medals.

DATES – Saturday, March 3,: Swimming Events. Sunday, April 22,: Drumcliffe Area Track and Field Events.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives, neighbours and friends of Leo Devins late of Canatogher, Rathcormac­k, Co. Sligo, who has died in England. He was buried in Drumcliffe Cemetery, Co. Sligo on Monday, February 19. May his soul rest in peace.

SOCCER SISTERS CAMP

Booking is now open for the Soccer Sisters Easter Camp in Carney on Wednesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 29, The camp is open to all girls aged 6-14. Cost of the camp is €30 which includes a kit and a football. Booking is online at: soccersist­ers.ie.

TIDY TOWNS

We will be having a meeting tonight, Tuesday, February 27, at 8 p.m. in the History Centre to discuss grant applicatio­ns, Spring Clean, projects etc.

GAA REGISTRATI­ON

The dates for 2018 registrati­on of the local Drumcliffe-Rosses Point GAA Club are Saturday, February 24 (10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in Oxfield) and Wednesday, February 28 (7.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. in Rosses Point NS). The Saturday morning nursery coaching for kids is set to start back on March 3.

CARNEY LOOP WALK

CARNEY LISSADELL 10K

The annual Carney Lissadell 10k Road Race and Walk takes place on Easter Monday, April 2, Plenty of time to get some training in between now and then.

NORTH SLIGO HEALTH FORUM

We will be holding a meeting in the History Centre, Rathcormac tomorrow, Wednesday, February 28, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

POTTERY CLASSES

GAA DINNER DANCE

The Geevagh GAA dinner dance will take place in Kilronan Castle on Friday, March 2, The senior ladies and the intermedia­te Men’s teams will be presented with their medals on the night.
