EASTER CAMP

Come and join our fun-filled Easter Camp here in the Avalon Centre. The camp is for children aged 6-10 and takes place from March 26 to March 29. Camp hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and the cost is €60 per child.

There are 50 places available so drop into the Avalon Centre’s main office now to complete the applicatio­n form and book your place. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays to process applicatio­ns.

NB Bookings will not be accepted over the phone or outside the office hours outlined above. Camp fees must be paid in full at the time of applicatio­n to secure your place, no deposits will be accepted.

KIDS MOVIE CLUB

Parents, is Friday afternoon your day for getting the shopping done or running errands? Would you like to do it without the kids in tow? Then drop them to the new Drop and Shop Movie Club at the Avalon Centre from 3.15 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday where they can watch a Movie and enjoy some freshly made popcorn and a drink. Suitable for children aged six to 10 years. Limited spaces available so pre-booking advised. Call 071 9161836 for more informatio­n or for booking. Cost: €3 per child.

LITTLE BAKERS

Our Baking Programme for Young Bakers to have fun, get messy, learn a new skill, make new friends and bake lots of yummy treats is continuing. The programme will run on Monday afternoons 3: 30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children aged six to nine years and on Wednesday afternoons 3: 30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children aged 10 to 12 years. KITE WORKSHOPS

Our kite making workshops are also continuing and offer the chance to learn a whole set of new skills, make new friends, make your own mini kites, fly them and take them home. The dates for the workshops are Thursdays first, eighth, March 15 and 22 and they are suitable for children aged eight years and up. PARENT/TODDLER GROUPS

Our parent and toddler groups are back and meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Parents, grandparen­ts and carers are welcome. Drop in to the centre or call 071 9161836. There’s always a warm welcome, with playtime, story-time, music-time and snacks, etc. €3 per family.

BINGO

Bingo continues every Friday night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Double books cost €15, single books €10, half books €5 and single sheets €1. There is also a raffle on the night.

PIPE BAND

Bagpipe classes have started every Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The minimum age for learners is 10 years and tuition is free. Drumming classes will be starting soon. All learning instrument­s will be provided. Call Paul at 083 3320719 for further details.

YOUTH CLUBS

Our Junior Youth Club meets on Monday and Wednesday from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Senior Youth Club meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

BOWLING

The Avalon Centre Bowling Club meets ever Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the centre. Just call in on the day.
