Work starts on historic mill building

NEW LIDL STORE PART OF DEVELOPMEN­T

MCCABE Architects of Sligo and Donegal has shared pics on social media of the early days of the redevelopm­ent of the landmark Lyons Mill on the Finisklin Road into a supermarke­t.

Work began on the project in the last couple of weeks with McCallion Group appointed as the main contractor.

The Mill will have a cafe at ground floor with contempora­ry offices above. The overall developmen­t will also include a new Lidl superstore, Sligo’s second, a public plaza/market area and 137 car parking spaces .

Lidl says its new store at Finisklin Road will create 25 new jobs.
