All GAA games postponed as Storm Emma landed

-

SLIGO got away lightly compared to other parts of the country as Storm Emma landed on Thursday and Friday but all GAA games were postponed as a result of the harsh weather.

This means St Attracta’s will now be taking on Rice College in the Connacht Senior A final on Saturday in Tuam.

The game had been scheduled for last Saturday but now the sides, who also contested the league final back in January, will face each other again in Tuam Stadium on Saturday.

Throw-in for that game is 12:30pm and a large crowd of supporters are expected.

Sligo seniors were due to play Longford at home in Markievicz Park on Sunday afternoon in the Allianz League Division 3 and that game was also called off.

It is expected to go ahead this Sunday in Markievicz Park although this had not been confirmed at the time of going to print.
