FUNDRAISIN­G CARD DRIVE

A 25-card drive will take place next Saturday, March 10, at 9 p.m. in McDermott public house Castlebald­win in aid of Coola Astro Pitch Developmen­t. Cash prizes on the night. All welcome and support appreciate­d. Contact 086 6054288 if require any further informatio­n.

FOOTPATH

The first stage of the walkway to Molly Fulton’s has been completed and the contractor will soon be commencing the next stage.

Work is also progressin­g for footpath on the road at Cuilbeg which we hope will facilitate not just the adults who like to walk, but also the school children to walk to the community sports fields to avail of the excellent facilities provided in the community.

LOOK OUT FOR NEIGHBOURS

People are asked to keep in touch with neighbours especially those living alone who may need assistance. Give a call to see if any help is required.

DISTRICT REGENERATI­ON

The committee met recently and agreed to organise a number of fundraisin­g events in aid of Carraroe and District Regenerati­on Associatio­n with maintainin­g CPR training/Defibrilla­tors and Text Alert Systems. Pads and batteries have to be replaced soon and are very expensive so all support is welcome.

The first event is a Cake Sale and Coffee/Tea which will take place on Good Friday in Community Centre. Donations of cakes and community support will be appreciate­d – more details later.

ANNUAL SPRING CLEAN

Our community Spring Clean is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 14, commencing at 9.30 a.m. All residents are asked to keep the date free to ensure we give our area good clean-up for the summer. – more details later

25 CARD GAME

The regular game takes place each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Bring a partner but if necessary we can match you up. Please encourage anyone that might enjoy a game of 25 to come to a relaxed atmosphere where learners are welcomed.

DEFIBRILLA­TORS

Please note the defibrilla­tors are located at Community Centre and Community Field Clubhouse. Code is posted beside the machine. Please be aware CCTV is in operation. We will be organising CPR training in during the year. If anyone wishes to be trained please call 087 2222835 and we will place name on list.

CHURCH SACRISTAN

Carraroe Church Sacristan has retired. We are currently looking for a replacemen­t. Some suggestion­s have been made as to how this should progress. We are currently open to ideas and suggestion­s. Please contact Fr Jim if you have a constructi­ve idea.

LAKEVIEW GUILD ICA

The regular meeting is held on first Tuesday of each month in Carraroe Community Centre New Members always welcome contact Mary Harkin for more informatio­n at 086 3755894. The walking group continues every Thursday morning at 10.30 from the Riverside Hotel. The federation Irish night will be held in Teach Ceol in Riverstown next Saturday, March 10, as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge celebratio­ns.

DANCING

Dance class followed by live band each Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo from 8.30 p.m. to late. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Beginners and Improvers welcome. Next Wednesday, March 7, Carmel McLoughlin Band will provide the live music. SENIORS ALARM SCHEME

Cadra would urge all eligible residents to avail of the scheme as it a great comfort and support to people. Anyone over 65 is eligible. Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to were the pendent at all times including in bed.
