O’Connell Street refurbishment

Construction works on the l ong awaited refurbishment of O’Connell Street are expected to start some time between April and June.

Councillor Declan Bree was given the update after asking for a report on the project.

Senior Engineer Tom Brennan said the tender process had started and works would begin in Quarter 2 of 2018.

He said the street would be finished by the end of September.

A date for a meeting with businesses will be issued once “a clear picture of the Project can be presented,” he added.
