On Saturday it’s time to don your shamrock and celebrate St Patrick’s Day with fun for all the family. Parades are taking place across the county including Sligo town which is starting at 12pm.

The popular Sing for the Hell of It! comes to the Hawk’s Well on Tuesday, March 20th. Dave Flynn leads these social sing along evenings which are open to everyone and anyone who likes to sing. No musical experience is required. There is no commitment, no performanc­e at the end, this is just singing for the hell of it! From 8pm, tickets €10.

Fancy learning some new dance moves and also getting fit? Then come along to the Model for its Latin Dancing classes which are fun and informal with the likes of Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton among the steps being practised. Tuesday, March 13th from 11am-12pm. €5.

ON Friday it’s comedy night in the Hawk’s Well with this hilarious production. South Armagh farmer’s wife, Vera, is thrilled that her son, Seamus is getting hitched. But, not everything is going to plan! A riotous rabble of larger-than-life characters will be joining Seamus and his blushing bride for a shindig. 8pm, tickets €25.

THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER

Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Barry Keoghan are among the cast in this film showing in the Model on Thursday night. Steven (Farrell) a charismati­c surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkabl­e sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behaviour of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.

CHILDREN’S BOOK FESTIVAL

There are numerous events taking place this month for the Children’s Book Festival. The Hawk’s Well, The Model and Kid’s Own will be running theatre, art, film and story-telling events such as Wayne O’Connor’s Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes on Monday in the Hawk’s Well at 3pm.

CAN’T STOP THE BEAT

Dancers from Sarah Middleton’s Beat It Dance School perform from their repertoire of hiphop, breakdance, commercial, jazz & lyrical dance in the Hawk’s Well on Tuesday, March 13th and Wednesday, March 14th from 7pm.
