Darkness Into Light (DIL) is Pieta House’s flagship annual fundraising and awareness event.

It started with approximately 400 people in the now iconic yellow DIL T-shirts walking the 5km course in Dublin’s Phoenix Park in 2009.

This year, there will be roughly 180 DIL venues across Ireland and worldwide.

Last year there was 180,000 people sharing the light and helping Pieta House to promote suicide prevention and to tackle the stigma that leads people to the doors of Pieta House centres.

Darkness into Light relies on a team of dedicated and enthusiastic people like you! It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and you’ ll meet some truly incredible people.

In order to volunteer, go to dil.pieta.ie and find your venue’s page.

Go to your venue page and register as a volunteer.

You will be contacted by a member of the volunteer committee who will discuss your preferences etc.

Individual volunteers must be at least 18 years old by 12 th of May 2018.

The money raised through DIL helps to keep Pieta House’s life-saving counselling services free. It also helps to develop their research and broaden services so that they can reach those in need and tackle the stigmas that lead people to the doors of Pieta House.
