WALKING CLUB

The walk this Easter Saturday, March 31, is in Carrowteig­ue. The level is moderate and the terrain is along a track and takes four hours.

BRIDGE CLUB

The Enniscrone Social Bridge club is held on Wednesdays at the Diamond Coast Hotel. We had a draw this week and 42 members played. The winners were first, Loretta Tuffy and Mary Flynn; second, Mary O’Doherty and Odette Casey; third, Dympna Hannon and Laura Doherty.

DRAMATIC SOCIETY

Castleconn­or Dramatic Society are delighted to be bringing their three-act comedy ‘Drastic Action’ to Ballina Arts Centre on Wednesday, March 28. If you missed the opportunit­y to see this three-act comedy set in the fictional village of ‘Rathcashel’ some weeks back in Castleconn­or Community Centre you really should try and make it to this one night show in Ballina. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. with curtains up at 8 p.m. A great night’s entertainm­ent guaranteed. Tickets on sale at Ballina Arts Centre or on their website, booking in advance is highly recommende­d to avoid disappoint­ment.

ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

Our intermedia­te team got their 2018 season up and running with a Benson Cup fixture against St Farnan’s on Saturday, March 24, The league gets under way this week with Easkey providing the opposition in the opening round.

Minors – The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team had an encouragin­g start to their Division One campaign following a hard-fought 1-10 to 1-6 win over Tourlestra­ne last Sunday. They host Ballymote-Bunninadde­n in Quigabar next Sunday morning in round two.

Underage Training – This continues for all underage groups at the usual time this week.

County scene – Well done to Aidan Morrison and the Sligo hurlers on their 3-13 to 0-15 win over Fermanagh.

Easter camp – We will be holding a two-day Easter Camp on Monday, March 26, and Tuesday, March 27, for boys and girls aged 5-12. It will take place from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with club coaches and Sligo GAA coaches on hand during the day to provide the coaching. Registrati­on takes place on the Monday morning from 10 a.m., with a cost of €20 per child with discounts for multiple children from the same family. It promises to be a great two days. St Patrick’s Day – Well done to everyone involved in an excellent St Patrick’s Day parade in Enniscrone.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot €3.600 when the draw took place in Hopkin’s Bar on Saturday last. Numbers drawn were 7, 37 and 38. Winners of €25 each were Terry McDonnell, Kathleen Lawless, Annette Mullaney and Jim Young. Jackpot for next draw on Saturday, March 31, in the Hilltop Culleens will be €3,800.
