GURTEEN will play host to its first ever country music festival this May Bank Holiday Weekend.

Named ‘My Old Hometown Gurteen’ after a Patrick Feeney song, the festival will feature the Gurteen native, along with Gerry Guthrie, Jimmy Buckley, Jason Moyles and more.

A marquee will be erected outside Teach Murray for the duration of the festival, where the music will take place.

Weekend tickets can be purchased, or tickets for individual events taking place on May 4 th, 5 th and 6 th can also be bought.

Tickets are available on eventbrite.ie or from The Crossbar, Teach Murray, Centra Gurteen, Henry’s Gala Ballymote and Cawley’s Tubbercurry.

To coincide with the festival, a Bealtaine parade is being organised for the Sunday of the event.

More artists are being asked to come forward to take part in the parade.

There is no charge for anyone wishing to enter the parade. There will be a bucket collection during the parade, and all names of parade participants will be entered into the bucket. The proceeds of the bucket collection will be donated to a charity of choice of the winner.

Latin dancers, jiving schools and more have already expressed an interest in the parade.
