COMMUNITY COUNCIL AGM

The annual general meeting of Easkey Community Council CLG will be held in Easkey Community Centre on Wednesday, April 25, at 8.30 p.m.

PUBLIC MEETING

A public meeting will be held in Dromore West community centre on Saturday, April 28, at 8 p.m. on the eighth Amendment. Speakers include Declan Ganley, Yvonne Donoghue and Sylvana Parle.

PADDY KILCULLEN R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Paddy Kilcullen, Kileenduff, Easkey. Sympathy is extended to his son Martin, daughter Mary, daughter-in-law Christine, sonin-law Darragh, grandchild­ren, nephews nieces, relatives and friends. His funeral took place from McGowan’s funeral home to St James Church. Burial took place in Roslea Cemetry.

DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

DIED IN ENGLAND

The death has taken place in Cambridge, England of George Hickson a native of Rathlee. Sympathy is extended to his nephew Fr Oliver McHugh and nieces Maura and Bernie and their families.

MOBILE HEART UNIT

The Mobile Heart Unit is coming to the Family Resource Centre, Enniscrone on Friday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free heart check is available to all people in the area.

THE LATE DONIE KIRBY

The sudden death has taken place of Donie Kirby, Castletown, Easkey and Ballyneety, Limerick. Funeral took place from his home to St James Church, Easkey for Requiem Mass followed by burial in Roslea Cemetry. Sympathy is extended to his wife Christine, son Daniel and daughter Emma, sister Mary, inlaws, nephews, nieces relatives and friends.

Donie was a great promoter of hurling in Sligo, coached hurling in schools and set up the Western Gaels hurling club. He was assistant secretary of the Sligo County Board at the time of his death.

JOHNNY KENNY R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Johnny Kenny, Carrowpadd­en, Rathlee, who resided in New York for many years. Sympathy is extended to his brother Mikie sisters Mary McGuire and Breege Donagher, inlaws, nephews, nieces relatives and friends. His funeral took place from McGowan’s funeral home to Rathlee Church. Burial took place in Roslea Cemetry following Requiem Mass.

SKREEN SOCIAL DANCE

The April social dance in the Skreen-Dromard community centre will take place on Saturday 28. Music for dancing will be provided by Nigel Livingston­e from 10 p.m.

FR PADDY TUFFY R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Fr Paddy Tuffy, Culleens. Sympathy is extended to his sister Agatha Davis, brothers Tommie Joe and Paul, in laws, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Fr Paddy served in Easkey/Rathlee parish as curate during the years 1971 to 78.
