A church gate collection in aid of Cancer Care West will take place in local churches on Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20. Any support would be appreciate­d.

All qualifiers (first place winners) will now go on to represent Riverstown at the county finals on Saturday, June 23, at the Sligo IT starting at 1.30 p.m.

SEAN NÓS DANCING

Classes for children wishing to learn sean nós dancing with Eimear Mulvey are taking place in the Morrison Cottage, Riverstown every Sunday.

Beginners 11.30 a.m. to midday, Intermedia­te 12 to 12.30 p.m. New comers are always welcomed. For more informatio­n call 086 2584465.

FLEADH CHEOIL SHLIGIGH

As part of the programme of events for Fleadh Cheoil Shlighigh there will be a Flag Day on Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. The opening concert will take place on Saturday, May 26, in Gillooly Hall.

This will be followed on Sunday, May 27, by Aifreann na Fleidhe in the cathedral. Events will continue into June.
