PHOTO/HISTORY EXHIBITION

The local committee are planning another photo and history exhibition later in the year following on from the huge success of the 2017 event. All photos relating to the parish from community events, church events, sport, workplace, schools, people, locations etc are all welcome.

Anyone who now lives away from the parish is also welcome to contribute relevant material. Please contact Anne Marie Gorman at 087 6235468 or email amgorman12@gmail.com. All photos will be returned after the event.

TRACTOR RUN

A charity tractor, honda and vintage car run takes place in Coolaney on May 20 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain Inn. Registrati­on is at 1 p.m. and refreshmen­ts will be served. All proceeds to Irish Guide Dogs for the blind and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.

FUN WALK

A 3km fun walk takes place from Achonry NS on Sunday, May 27, at 1.30 p.m. Proceeds to Achonry NS Refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards. All support appreciate­d. The children are also taking part in a ‘Silent Day’ on Friday, May 25, in the school.

WALKING/RUNNING TRACK

The newly completed walking/ running track at Nace O’Dowd Park is proving a real success with many folk using it on a daily basis. It is contributi­ng hugely to the health and well-being of our community in a real and sustainabl­e way.

GAA LOTTO

The Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA 2018 lotto tickets are still available with the first draw taking place very soon. This is the principal fundraiser for the day to day running of the club and your continued support is greatly appreciate­d. The jackpot stands at €5,600. Many thanks to all the loyal supporters who have contribute­d again this year.

ACHONRY NS

Enrollment forms for the 2018/19 school year are now available from the school and also at both Mullinabre­ena and Achonry churches.

KNOCKNASHE­E PRE-SCHOOL

Enrollment forms for September 2018 for the ever popular local pre-school are available from Caroline Coleman at 087 2250049.

DANCING

Social dancing continues in St Nathy’s Hall every Monday at 8 p.m. for beginners and 9 p.m. for all others. Newcomers always welcome.
