PADDY KILLORAN WEEKEND

The Paddy Killoran Traditiona­l Music Weekend will be held from June 15 to June 17 with the official opening on June 15 at 7.30 p.m. in the Pastoral Centre followed by a Junior Session, 10 p.m. Music Session in Doddy’s.

June 16 – At 8.30 p.m. a concert which will be held in the Art Deco theatre and will feature the band ‘ Men Of the West‘. This exceptiona­l traditiona­l music trio consists of multi-instrument­alists Stephen Doherty and David Doocey both from Foxford, Co. Mayo and singer/guitarist Pat Coyne from Maam valley in Connemara. Stephen plays Accordion, Flute and Whistle and David plays Fiddle and Concertina and both have won numerous all-Ireland titles. Men Of the West delivers outstandin­g music in a traditiona­l style along with a vibrant mix of songs. 10 p.m. Session in the Coach House Hotel.

June 17 – Mass at 11.30 a.m. in church of the Immaculate Conception for Paddy Killoran and deceased musician of the area, 1 p.m. Tunes at Paddy Killoran Memorial on Gurteen Road, 5 p.m. Singing and storytelli­ng in Hayden’s, 7 p.m. Teenage Music Session at Gormley’s Pub, 10 p.m. Slan Abhaile Session in Hayden’s Pub.

Don’t forget the Bunninadde­n Men’s Sports Saturday is on this Saturday, June 16, from 12 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. This male only, free event is part of Men’s Health Week.
