NORA HELLY R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Nora Helly, née Browne, Forthland, Easkey. She was predecease­d by her husband Jim. Sympathy is extended to her daughter, sons, daughters-inlaw, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St James’ Church, Easkey followed by burial in Roslea Cemetry.

BLOOD DONATION

Irish Blood Transfusio­n Services are holding a Blood Donation evening in Skreen-Dromard community centre on June 28 between 5and 8.30 p.m. Please come out and support this vital service and help make this a regular clinic.

MID-SUMMER RUN/WALK

Rathlee National School will hold their annual Mid-summer Run/Walk on Saturday, June 16, at 2 p.m. This year will have a 5k and a 10 K route. The run will start at Brownes Pullaheene­y and finish there with a barbecue and a raffle.

SAFE PASS COURSE

There will be a Safe Pass Course on Wednesday, June 20 in the Diamond Coast Hotel from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact Gregory for booking 087 6347707.

VEHICLE DRIVE

A vehicle drive will take place on Sunday, July 8, at 3 p.m. in support of Jonathon Higgins Go Fund Me. The drive will start in Easkey village and all vehicles welcome.

TIDY TOWNS

Easkey Tidy Towns (Leap) are holding weekly meetings every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. to get ready for when the judges arrive in a few weeks’ time. Meet at the Grotto car park.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to Siobhán Sutherland, and family Cooga, Rathlee on the death of her mother Angela Dunne, The Meadows, Enniscrone and late of Circular Road, Ballina and Coventry.

PRINCIPAL RETIRES

Mary Mullaney deputy principal on Owenbeg National School has recently retired from teaching and has been teaching in Easkey parish since 1995. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 15, in St James Church followed by refreshmen­ts in the community centre. All are welcome to celebrate this special evening.

SUMMER CAMP

A fun summer camp will be held in Dromore West Community Centre from July 24 to July 26 for children ages six to 12 years. Free to attend. As spaces are limited contact Enniscrone FRC at 096 37444 to book a place.

ST FARNAN’S GAA

St Farnan’s GAA Club are holding a strictly adults only night on Saturday, June 16, in the Flying Horse at 9 p.m. Refreshmen­ts and music.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on June 1. Numbers drawn were 9, 10, 12 and 30. €25 winners Ian Clarke, J and Ed. And R Hogan, Pat Cullen, Brendan Dobbyn and Barbara Gallagher. Promoter’s prize: Martina Reilly. Next jackpot €1,500 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The 50/50 draw envelopes are now on sale in shops. Last week’s winner was Kathleen Cowley, Rathlee Shop.
