CONGRATS to Maeve Kelly on her selection for the Connacht team for the upcoming Interprovincials taking place in Castle Dargan from July 10-12th. This should be a fantastic sporting occasion.

Results for the Ladies weekly 18 hole competitions as follows: Alternate day competition 9th and 10th June sponsored by Zip Yard, 1st prize went to Carmel Conlon, 2nd to Maeve Kelly and 3rd prize went to Ann Mullen. Tohers The Chemist sponsored the alternate day competition on 16th and 17th June, 1st prize was won by Assumpta Kelly, 2nd prize by Annette Kearns and 3rd prize went to Pauline Lennon. Our ladies had a wonderful days golf at Ballyhaunis Golf Club recently. The continuing beautiful sunshine only added to the enjoyment on the day. 1st prize was won by Annette Kearns, 2nd by Loretto Brennan and 3rd prize was won by Claire Reynolds. The best front 9 holes was won by Helen Douglas and best back 9 holes by Mary Walsh.

STRANDHILL:
THE Connacht Seniors Open took place at Strandhill Golf Club on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th conditions were very hot over the two days and it was strange to see so many brollies used to keep out the sun. The course was in great shape and this was acknowledged by the competitors who were very complimentary of the course and the hospitality over the two days. On Monday July 2nd the JB Carr team are playing the first leg of their Connacht semi-final against Ballinrobe, the match is played over two legs with the first leg away, good luck to all involved. The first social mixed event was on Friday and conditions were perfect for a social outing, the social committee intend to run the event every second Friday during the next two months. The social mixed is a great way to socialise with your fellow members and we would encourage more members to get involved, next outing Friday 13th July.
