Dancing under Benbulben

HUNDREDS turned out to dance under Benbulben for the Benbulben Country Music Festival in Grange last weekend.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Martin Baker commended those involved for hosting such a successful event.

He said: ‘ This was a major undertaking by a dedicated crew of volunteers, and I was delighted to see their hard work pay off. It was a wonderful occasion and everyone enjoyed the excellent musical line-up.

“I don’t think you could have a finer setting in the July sunshine than the backdrop of Benbulben and the many visitors were certainly enjoyed the experience. It is also to the credit of the organising committee that every element of the Festival was very professionally organised, from parking, stewarding and catering, it was a top class, community-led event and was a major success.” It’s thought more than 2,000 people were there to enjoy some of the best acts on the scene including Derek Rayn.
