- By JESSICA FARRY

AN American woman is in the process of chasing her family roots, and she is looking for your help.

Kathy Gourley, who is based in Iowa, is hoping that there is someone out there who can help identify people in the photo on the right.

Kathy is looking for information on children in the photo which includes her grandfather Dominic Marley (circled).

The photo was taken of pupils at Ross National School which opened in 1891 and closed in 1970.

The school, which was in Dromard, had an average attendance of 28.

It is estimated that the photograph in question was taken during the 1896-1897 school year.

Anyone with any information on the photograph is urged to contact Kathy via email on kathygourley@rocketmail.com.
