Racing continues with Family Day this Sunday

IT is Family Day at the Sligo Races this Sunday, July 15th with a bumper 7-card race meeting in store.

With the fantastic weather of late, what better way to don your finest and bring the whole family along to enjoy some entertaining horse racing.

There is lots of activities planned for the afternoon meeting. These include Scruffy Duffy with all his fun and games and there is a kids racing club as well.

There will be face painting, free ice cream and goodie bags and more. The first race is off at 1:50pm and gates open at 12pm with people being advised to come along early.

This is the 4th race meeting so far this year and there is plenty more entertaining days to come in Cleveragh.

The 2-day meeting on August 8th and 9th sees the hugely popular Ladies Day taking place on the Thursday which is one of the highlights of the racing calendar.

Sponsored by the Glasshouse Hotel, Marietta Doran the resident fashion presenter on TV 3’s Ireland AM will be the judge on the day.

The winner will receive a cash prize along with a bespoke designer dress by Vivienne O’Connor, a full jewellery set by Newbridge Silverware and much more. The 9 runners up will walk away with a fabulous goodie bag by Voya Seaweed Baths and a pendant by Newbridge Silverware. There will also be a prize for Most Stylish Man.

Then on Tuesday, August 21st, there is another race meeting before the final meeting on Thursday, September 27th, the popular students’ day.
