Yeats College students celebrate Leaving Certificate success
THERE were scenes of jubilation at Yeats College Galway as students received their Leaving Certificate results on Wednesday.
Results achieved by the students in this year’s examinations were phenomenal, with a large number now confident of being offered a place on their first choice College course when the CAO offers are made on Monday.
The Yeats College class of 2018 performed extremely well in their Leaving Certificate examinations, with numerous students scoring 600 points or over.
One ecstatic student was Lorcan Mulkerrin from Salthill who was one of only seven students in the country to score an amazing 8 H1 grades. Lorcan completed the two year programme at Yeats College and thanked the teachers and staff for helping him to achieve a place on his first choice CAO course.
Another delighted student was Matthew Laffey from Salthill who also scored the maximum 625 points. Matthew was thrilled with his well-deserved results and now looks forward to studying Medicine at Trinity College Dublin in September.
Repeat Leaving Certificate Student Ciara Davey from Ballymote achieved an impressive 589 points and was of course overjoyed with her fantastic results. Ciara is now looking forward to studying Medicine at NUI,G in September. Another Sligo girl who was delighted with her exam results was Joanne Morahan from Tubbercurry who scored 542 points and is now excited to begin hee first choice course,Physiotherapy at the University of Aberdeen.
