PRIDE OF PLACE
Coolaney has been nominated by Sligo County Council to represent Sligo in the Pride of Place competition.
A meeting will be held in Coolaney Community Centre on Wednesday, August 29, at 8.30 p.m. to discuss how best to present Coolaney to the judging panel.
All groups, clubs and interested individuals are welcome to attend. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our wonderful community on a national scale.
5K ROAD RACE/WALK
The annual Coolaney road race and walk organised by Coolaney-Mullinabreena GAA will take place on Friday, August 31, at 7.30 p.m. This year it reverts to a 5km route which is sure to be very appealing to runners and walkers alike. It’s known as the ‘Fastest 5k in the west’.
This event has grown hugely in recent years and is now very popular on the circuit. The event will be chip timed and refreshments will be served afterwards. Contact Gerry Lee at 086 8282263 for details.
GAA CLUB DRAW
Coolaney-Mullinabreena GAA Club have launched their annual Prize Draw for 2018. There are lots of great prizes this year totalling over €2,000 in value, ranging from a top cash prize to great hotel breaks. Tickets are available from senior players, coaches and committee members. All support is appreciated. Draw takes place on Sunday, September 9
COOLANEY UNITED
Coolaney United Wednesday Night Bonus Ball Draw is to support fundraising efforts for the proposed new Astro Pitch in Coolaney Community park. Each Bonus Ball is €5 with a weekly prize of €100. Bonus balls can be purchased in PK MEATS on Thursday and Fridays and in O’Grady’s shop and pub the rest of the week. Best of luck to all.
JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
Meetings are held every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre for Youths between the ages of 12-15.
FORÓIGE CLUB
The Foróige Club continues each Friday evening at Coolaney Community Centre between 7.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. It is open to all youths aged 13 to 18 years. We are also currently seeking volunteer leaders. For more information contact Mark at 086 0740841 or Brendan 087 3964541.
