The Cloonacool Ladies Monday Morning Group will meet on Monday, September 3, from 10.15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. We looking forward to meeting everyone again and new members are more then welcome.

COMMUNITY PARK DRAW

Tickets are now on sale for the Community Park lotto draw. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member. The next draw takes place in September and the jackpot now stands at €2,200. All proceeds goes towards the ongoing maintenanc­e and developmen­t of facilities at the community park. CARD GAME

The Cloonacool Card Game will continue at 9 p.m. every Monday in Cloonacool Community Centre.

MUSIC CLUB

Cloonacool Music Club takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9: 30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. CARNS VIGIL

The 33rd anniversar­y of the Apparition of Our Lady in Carns occurs on September 2. A nine night vigil begins on Sunday, September 2, at 9 p.m. at the shrine and the annual Mass will be held on Monday three at 8 p.m.

EASKEY POST OFFICE

The threat of the closure of Easkey post office is still on going. The usage has not increased dramatical­ly so it needs to increase significan­tly over the next six months as an offer has already been made by An Post to the new postmaster to close next April.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Congratula­tions to Niall Gordon, Dromore West/Templeboy Community Games who won silver medal in the under-eight 80 metres at the all-Ireland athletic finals.

COASTAL CHALLENGE

The annual Coastal Challenge, a 42km cycle will take place on Saturday, September 15. Same route as previous years with refreshmen­ts at the Beach Bar, Aughris and at the finish in Easkey Community Centre. Cost of entry is Adult €20 and under-18s are €10. Registrati­on will be on the day of the cycle at Easkey Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the cycle starting at 10.30 a.m.

COLLECTION THANKS

Leap Easkey says thanks to everyone who donated to the recent church gate collection. The total sum raised was €546.

70K AND 40K FUN CYCLE

Templeboy/Aughris Rural Action group will hold a 70K and 40K fun cycle on Sunday, September 23, starting at 10 a.m. from the Beach Bar with refreshmen­ts afterwards.

COMMUNITY ALERT

The next meeting of the Kilglass/Culleens community alert takes place on Wednesday, September 5, at 9 p.m. in Sheridan’s Bar.

MONSTER BINGO

A monster bingo will be held in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone on Sunday, September 9, at 3 p.m. in aid of the Jonathon Higgins Go Fund Me.

THE LATE MARTIN KEANE

The death has taken place of Martin Keane, Bagenalsto­wn, Carlow formerly of Gleneaskey, Dromore West and Tulylinn, Culleens. His remains were removed from Sweeney’s funeral home to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour for Requiem Mass and burial took place in Churchill Cemetry. Sympathy is extended to his family and relatives.

PAST PUPIL REUNION

STORYBOOK TRAIL

Enniscrone Library invites all of the family to read pages of a picture book that are displayed along the hollow at Enniscrone beach. It starts beside the lifeguard tower. Different books will be displayed here regularly throughout the summer.
