Leddy wins 9th annual Calry Run
SEAMUS Leddy of North Leitrim won the 9th Calry Parish Church 3 mile fun run on Saturday. Despite other events taking place elsewhere, there were 46 entrants for the 3 mile event. Juvenile races, ranging in the age from four up to eleven took place at 2pm, with 17 children taking part.
Leddy won the 3 Mile race in a time of 00:18:31. The record for this course stands at 00:15:48 from 2014’s winner Richard Gorman. Second place finisher was 1st Male Over 40, Jimmy Currid from North Sligo AC in a time of 00:18:42. Gavin Dolan finished in third place and was 2nd Senior Male in a time of 00:18:55. Michael Mooney was 2nd Male Over 40, finishing in 4th place in a time of 00:19:03. Shane O’Doherty from Sligo AC was 1st Junior Male, finishing in 8th place overall in a time of 00:19:37. Aisling Cawley from Sligo AC was first lady overall in a time of 00:22:40. She was followed by Mary Sayers from Sligo AC who was second lady overall and 2nd Female Over 40 in a time of 00:24:09. Rose Young from Sligo AC was third lady overall and 3rd Female Over 40 in a time of 00:24:40. Maura Mullen from Sligo AC was 1st Senior Lady, finishing sixth lady overall in a time of 00:26:45. Alicia Dusek was 1st Junior Female, finishing seventh lady overall in a time of 00:27:17.

There were numerous spot prizes which were sponsored by various local businesses in Sligo. Veteran Male:1.Jimmy Currid 00:18:42 (2nd overall); 2.Michael Mooney 00.19.03 (4th overall); 3.Graham Allen 00:19:08 (5th overall). Senior Female:1.Maura Mullen 00:26:45 (24th overall) and there was no more entries in this category. Junior Male:1.
