Students receive NLN certificates
OVER 80 students of the National Learning Network were presented with certificates by Mayor of Sligo Municipal District, Councillor Rosaleen O’Grady at a ceremony at The Sligo Park Hotel.
In partnership with the Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) and the HSE, National Learning Network’s centre in Sligo offers rehabilitative and vocational training programmes to more than 100 people with extra support needs every year.
All programmes provide the opportunity for individuals to gain the skills, qualifications and work experience they want at a pace that suits their needs.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Councillor O’Grady said: “This is a monumental day in the lives of these students and I am thrilled to be here to congratulate them all and to present them with their awards.
“In National Learning Network you have had, and will continue to have, a strong ally as you progress in your life and career.
“NLN have a fine record of supporting students and enabling them to either return to work or take their first steps towards employment or back in education.
“I would like to congratulate each and every one of the students and I wish them every success for the future.”
Sharon Thornton, Area Manager in National Learning Network in Sligo said:“On behalf of each and every member of the staff here in National Learning Network, I would like to sincerely congratulate each of the students graduating here today. Rightly, their hard work, commitment, and dedication during their time here in NLN will be celebrated today.
“It is a great day of accomplishment for them, their families and for the staff here in Sligo.
