Special message on St Nathy’s jerseys

-

SPECTATORS at the Ladies final on Saturday may have noticed the special message behind the logo on the St Nathy’s jersey.

The Flanagan family from Coolaney suffered the tragic loss of their son Ríoghnán just over 3 years ago.

An Organ Donor could not be found for Ríoghnán in time. The family since then, actively try to promote Organ Donation at any chance they can. Etna Flanagan, Ríoghnáns mother is a long standing player and member of St Nathy’s. Her husband Connor has supported Etna in her football and the Club over the years.

After a brief conversation about organising sponsorship for a new set of jersey’s incorporating Organ Donation, Connor was more than willing to help out.

Little King Ventures (the logo on the right arm of the jersey) is a company formed in memory of Ríoghnán. The logo was designed by Louise O’Kennedy, inspired by Ríoghnán as his name translates to little king. Louise suffers from Cystic Fibrosis an illness closely linked to Organ Donation. The jersey was designed with Organ Donation as the main theme but also promotes the link to Cystic Fibrosis.

St Nathys U12 Team received a set of which they will wear for the first time next season and St Nathys Senior Team proudly wore the jersey at the Ladies Championship County Senior final on Saturday in Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry.
